Hey all:
I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and for some reason decided to do it now (my feet are asleep and I'm too lazy to shift and move them so I decided to Get Stuff Done?).

I see some of you a lot, and I see some of you just a little, and I see some of you not at all. Some of you are new and some of you have been around for a while, and I'd like to get to know you all a little better. So if you have a minute, I'd love for you to drop me a comment on this post. Just something small about what's going on in your life, with school or your family or whatever book you're reading; something quick about your current fandom obsession or what brought you to friend me on lj.

So, that's it. I'm going to stop procrastinating and go take my shower in preparation for getting gross and sweaty hiking tomorrow. :)

1. My life's pretty good! I'm working for the school paper over the summer and doing some genealogy research. I think these are both things that are the perfect summer projects for me, as they're both fairly time consuming, but also fairly enjoyable.

2. I'm currently a little obsessed with Mad Men. :)

3. I friended you because you wrote a great Fred drabble. I loved Fred's character a lot - I think her development was one of the best we saw in Jossverse, although all of the characters developed quite a bit. (Whether that's good or bad is widely debated, so let's leave it at that, shall we?) :P

1. My grandfather is obsessed with his/our genealogy, so I can understand the time-consuming part. I've never really gotten into it (beyond writing my biographical sketch for the semi-annual family tree book...see what I mean by obsessed?) but I'm glad that you have an interest. Have you found anything interesting?

2. It's on my list of things to watch, but fairly far down. What attracts you to it?

3. I love Fred's development. One of my favorite lines from ATS was at the beginning of S4, when everything was going so badly and Fred just bursts out "God, I am so sick of my chin being up!" She's such a sweet character, and one of the highlights of the later seasons for me.

1. I've been hanging out with friends a lot, which makes me happy. (:
2. I'm also reading A Clockwork Orange and I really like it so far.

Is A Clockwork Orange creepy? I'd heard that it is, which is not something I look for in a book, but I've been trying to read more classics.

Who is that in your icon?

I don't think so, but that's just me. It does have things like rape, and things like that because the author wrote it in the 60's and he imagined the future where people were running the streets and there was no law and things like that. I watched a little bit of the movie and seeing it visually did make it more creepy.

David Tennant. :)

I remember commenting when Jasper was born. I can't believe he's a year old already! He's such a cutie. :)

I started Castle last year and also like it very much, especially for the team!banter and the Castle family relationship. What's your favorite part?

Thanks!

Same as you really. Castle's family is adorable and I love the team dynamic.

Why I friended you? Your love of B/A, DB, and Bones. I think your Fred story was fantastic.

I'm currently devouring books written by Stuart Macbride, "Blind Eye" is the one I'm with at the moment. Set in Aberdeen, Scotland, a Detective Sargeant working in an off-beat, rude, unfair, and foul-mouthed police station. Serial Killers are his specialty.
What? I gotta have a break from fantasy novels sometimes. :0)

I've never heard of Stuart Macbride. Do you recommend him?

Who is your favorite fantasy author/what is your favorite book?

1. Excluding my family drama, I'm doing well. I kinda wish it would hurry up and be September though.

2. I'm reading Bossypants by Tina Fey, and IT'S THE BEST BOOK EVER.

3. Fandom obsession - The Good Wife ♥♥♥

4. I'm pretty sure we met through mutual appreciation of Bones :D

1. I've been seeing your posts about that lately. I'm sorry that your family stuff has been so difficult, but I'm glad that you're mostly doing well.

2. I've seen good reviews for that everywhere, so perhaps I'll get it from the library when I go home in July.

3. Definitely on my list, but I'm not sure how long it will take to get there. What do you like about it?

1. Thanks bb <3

2. Hope you enjoy it. It's amazing :D

3. Awesome. Well, it's nothing like any other show on TV. It has an amazing cast, including Matt Czuchry, plus a whole load of great guest stars. For me it's a few steps above everything else on TV right now.

I'm doing pretty well nowadays. I have a new pet birdie sitting on my knee right now. My latest fandom obsessions are Game of Thrones and PONIES. I friended you because...you found me first, actually, so you know that story. :) Also you are the bestest.

(Did I miss this Fred story others are mentioning?)

Yay birdie! What's its name? And its gender?

I have seen evidence of the PONY obsession, and it's adorable.

I actually clearly remember the story of our meeting- good job on my part not being lazy and actually reviewing; good job on yours not being put off by my rambling insanity. :D

The Fred story was a drabble from back in March that was apparently more memorable than I thought. Here: http://open-on-sunday.livejournal.com/2725545.html.

Icon makes me sad because episode was so very sad, so I must combat it with my B/A fluffiness before I go to bed!

Birdie's name is Spoko. I'm going with "him", because the truth is there's no way to know. So I got to choose. :)

Thanks for the link - I didn't comment on that one! It's beautiful and such a sad look at poor Fred. Although, truth is I don't even know which episode my Fred/Wes icon comes from.

Here, more B/A fluffiness.
